Commonly Needed Supplements
The following supplements are used in conjunction with the data on the Pathogen Characteristics Chart above. Once you have determined the preferred pH and type of biofilm for the predominant pathogen(s), this will provide information on the products needed to normalize pH and disrupt biofilms so your prescribed treatment(s) will be more effective.
LEARN MOREBioflim Disrupters: Fibrinolytics
Fibrinolytics – Kirkman Biofilm Defense (a good starting point, particularly if fairly symptomatic), otherwise lumbrokinase (Boluoke and Researched Nutritionals brands have the best research). Avoid
products with other enzymes, corn starch, etc. since they may compromise bioavailability. Take 2 capsules together once/day on an empty stomach, by itself, only water for 30 minutes afterwards (upon rising works well for most patients).
Kirkman – Biofilm Defense
Biofilm Defense®, a biofilm dissolver is designed to help dissolve the sugar and fibrin components of biofilms.* The formula contains enzymes included specifically for this purpose.*

Bioflim Disrupters: eDNA bioflims
eDNA biofilms – see list of pathogens that make these. They all need bismuth subnitrate to disrupt this type of biofilm – Biofilm, Phase 2 Advanced. Stop when those pathogens are gone. Try to limit use to less than 4 months total at 200 mg/day. Take 2 together once/day apart from food.

Decaffeinated ECGC 500 – 750 mg bid (not with food) This has poor urinary clearance, but is fine for COVID biofilms (good blood/brain penetration) and has good prostate penetration

2 – Lumbrokinase 2 capsules together once/day on an empty stomach, by
itself, only water for 30 minutes afterwards.
3 – Berberine 500 mg with each meal – has some PSCK9 inhibitory
properties like Repatha. Some references limit its use to 6
months at that dosage.
For those who aren’t lowering Lp(a) well after 3- 6 months,
consider Repatha.

Berberine Balance

Reducing Ammonia: Ammonia Scavenger – dosage titrated based on first morning
urine pH. May change as contributing factors are treated – Lyme and urinary pathogens that produce urease (see list link at top of page). 2- 3 capsules in the evening are generally sufficient.
L-ornithine HCl – may be used instead of Ammonia Scavenger but some people may not convert ornithine to citrulline well based on their genetics (suspect urea cycle SNPs if they have trouble lowering first morning pH even at doses of more than 5 Gm)
Citrulline – up to 3 Grams/day – use if L-Ornithine alone isn’t working well
Ammonia Scavanger
Ammonia Scavenger (LIVER/TOX) contains nutrients that assist the body in ridding itself of the toxic metabolite ammonia, such as larch tree fiber, L-Ornithine, and yucca.*
L-Ornithine
L-Ornithine HCI supplies 500 mg of the amino acid in each capsule. L-Ornithine is a supplement form of Ornithine, an amino acid normally made in the body.*
L-Citrulline
L-Citrulline helps the body rid itself of ammonia, a by-product of intense exercise. This clearing enables the body to recover after a workout, and it frees ATP energy for enhanced uses such as respiration and signal transduction.*
Other Supplemements for UTIs: Treating Klebsiella
Taurine – an amino acid which the body should be making but doesn’t when extra ammonia is being generated due to CBS mutations. Excellent research on using this to reduce Klebsiella in GI tract and bladder. It also
helps with bile production and flow (important to shunt mycotoxins to bowel and prevent their reabsorption,
taking the burden off kidneys). Dose 3 Grams bid until Klebsiella is gone from bladder but may need 1-2 Gm bid for up to 6 months if gut colonized (likely source for bladder infection). Comes as powder that dissolves in
liquids as well as capsules
Taurine – 1,000mg
Taurine is the most abundant free amino acid in the brain, heart, and nervous system, and it plays a role in the healthy functioning of the brain, heart, gallbladder, eyes, and vascular system.*

Preventing future UTIs
Cystistatin – pre and/or post intercourse. Contains Uva Ursi and other herbs. Preferred instead of using antibiotics that may contribute to drug resistant pathogens and damaged gut and vaginal flora.
Vitamin D3 – needed for the bladder wall to make catheliciden which helps prevent UTIs. Levelshould be maintained above 50 (ref 30-100). This is also needed for adrenal support and progesterone production.
Cystistatin
Cystistatin is a unique botanical blend formulated to promote a healthy urinary tract.
One of the key ingredients in Cystistatin is uva ursi extract, which is standardized to contain 20% arbutin. Arbutin, particularly when combined with berberine sulfate, provides a powerful combination to help maintain healthy microbial balance in the urinary tract and bladder.*
A-D-K Vitamins

Vaginal Health: Acidification
Acidification – Goal is 3.8 to 4.2 regardless of menopausal state. Many pathogens thrive at a pH above 4.5. Lactobacilli produce lactic acid and if colonization is compromised, pH will rise, favoring their growth. Boric Acid is
not good enough. Its pH is only 5.1.
V-Fresh – use along with Seed to encourage colonization of lactobacillus crispatus
Ascorbic acid vaginal tablets (pH 2.6) – works well for premenopausal women
Apple Cider Vinegar Douching (pH 3.2) also lowers vaginal pH. Mix 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 2 cups of lukewarm water (distilled preferred).
