LabCorp Testing

LabCorp has restored PAI-1 4G/5G genetic testing!

With the closure of LabCorp’s hematology lab in Denver, all testing is now being done in Burlington, NC. The previous custom panel 505443 is no longer available and a new panel is being built for our use. The new panel will not include any genetic testing and those will need to be ordered separately.  Currently, none of the tests will reflex. We will therefore go straight to the PAI-1 4G/5G genetic test and if someone has low APCR, they will need to go back to LabCorp for the Leiden Factor V genetic test #511154.  Until we have that panel test order number, the hypercoagulation labs will have to be ordered individually with the follow test numbers:

Prothrombin Frag 1&2 117230
Fibrinogen Activity 001610
Thrombin-Anti-Thrombin complexes 015045
Lipoprotein (a) 120188
PAI-1 4G/5G Polymorphism 500309
Protein S, Functional 164525
Factor II Gene Mutation (Prothrombin G20210A) 511162
Alpha-2 Antiplasmin 117739
Activated Protein C Resistance 117762
Homocysteine 706994

Quest is still a testing option, however until each region has a panel built (codes differ between regions), you will need to order tests individually. There is no need to test for PAI-1 Activity. Just include the PAI-1 4G/5G polymorphism since there isn’t any reflex provision. The CPT codes for each test are on my website: https://ruthkriz.com/labcorp/ if patients need to check with their insurance for coverage for any of these tests. Professional Co-op can also still provide individual tests and will have the new panel available once built.
