Bioflim Disrupters: Fibrinolytics
Infections become chronic due to protective layers called biofilms. These biofilms often contain fibrin, made by a person that creates a shield around microbes and makes it difficult for the pathogens to be found and antibiotics to reach the embedded infections. In addition, many pathogens also make their own biofilms (eDNA and/or amyloid fibers called curli). Fibrinolytics are enzymes that help break down this fibrin layer. By disrupting the biofilm structure, they may make infections easier to reach and treat effectively. Because genetics and infections differ from person to person, the choice of fibrinolytic support is individualized and may change over time. Some products such as Biofilm Defense and lumbrokinase are generally started a week before testing in order to be collected. When pathogens are identified, other products that address their types get started in addition to the fibrinolytic. The use of these products are discontinued once those pathogens are gone but the fibrinolytic is continued, sometimes indefinitely if you have one of the genetic issues that results in either too much fibrin production (Factor II or Leiden Factor V mutations) or poor fibrin breakdown (elevated lipoprotein(a) or a PAI-1 4 G deletion. Below are the most common products recommended. Please note that guidance with a provider is needed to ensure proper use and duration of these supplements.
Bioflim Disrupters: eDNA bioflims
Some pathogens generate their own extracellular DNA (eDNA) biofilms. The type of disruptor and used depends on the organisms involved.
Examples of supplements in this area include bismuth subnitrate and certain herbal combinations that may help disrupt eDNA biofilms.
Below are the most common products recommended. It is recommended to limit use of bismuth to less than 4 months if dosed at 200 mg/day.
For a longer term protocol, the herbal products (Liposomal Cinnamon, Clove & Oregano Essentials; Allimax PRO) below have good eDNA disrupting properties when used together.
BioflimPhase 2 – Advanced
Biofilm Phase-2 Advanced™ by Priority One was formulated by Dr Paul Anderson to help address advanced biofilms.* As biofilms form and evolve, they tend to move from a weaker to a stronger state. This supplement is specifically formulated with the stronger state – Phase 2 – in mind.*
Allimax PRO
AlliMax Pro capsules contain 450 mg / capusle of stabilized Allisure® allicin powder – natures’ anti-microbial agent. This means that AlliMax Pro capsules can be used to help resolve any condition with a bacterial, fungal or viral cause. AlliMax Pro is the most potent and purest dose of allicin on the market. *
Biofilm Disrupters: Amyloid fibers (curli)
Some infections can form biofilms strengthened by amyloid fibers (called curli). These fibers not only help bacteria attach to a surface (bladder wall or prostate) as well as contribute along with fibrin and sometimes eDNA to the biofilm structure.
Products used to disrupt curli include:
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), curcumin/turmeric, and decaffeinated green tea extract (EGCG). The EGCG doesn’t clear the urinary tract well and is therefore only used when pathogens that generate curli are found in the prostate or when treating Long COVID.
Turiva
Turiva® is a full-spectrum turmeric product that contains an exclusive blend of bioactive nutrients. It is a natural turmeric (curcumin) matrix standardized to contain curcuminoids, turmeric oils and turmerin protein, along with many other active turmeric compounds that deliver comprehensive support.*
Elevated Lp(a)
Lp(a) is a form of LDL (bad cholesterol). It isn’t lowered with diet, exercise, or statin drugs and statin drugs have been found to elevate Lp(a) by about 20%.
Lowering elevated Lp(a) may involve extended-release niacin, lumbrokinase, and sometimes berberine. This works for most people with this finding, but elevated Lp(a) may require additional pharmaceutical support such as Repatha if not responding to these supplements.

Other supplements for UTIs: Reducing Ammonia
High ammonia levels in the bladder damage the GAG layer (lining) of the bladder wall, stabilize biofilms, and raise pH which favors the growth of many commonly found pathogens.
To help your body clear ammonia more efficiently and prevent those outcomes, please follow the ammonia clearing instructions under patient information. Options include Ammonia-Scavenger (a combination of L-ornithine and citrulline), or use of L-Ornithine or L- Citrulline individually. This is only used when the pH is too high, since some pathogens also like a pH that is too low.
Other Supplemements for UTIs: Treating Klebsiella
Klebsiella is a bacteria that can contribute to recurrent UTIs and may also live in the gut, allowing reinfection of the bladder.
According to an NIH study published in 2022, taurine helps reduce Klebsiella levels and supports urinary and digestive health. Use is individualized and may continue until the bacteria is cleared and recurrence risk is reduced.

Preventing future UTIs
Preventing recurrent UTIs focuses on supporting bladder health, maintaining healthy bacteria, and strengthening natural defenses.
Her resources mention preventive supports such as:
Cystistatin, which may be used around intercourse to help prevent stirred up pathogens from flourishing
Vitamin D3, which helps the bladder wall produce cathelicidin. This is used by the immune system to prevent urinary tract infections.
Probiotics and vaginal microbiome support to help maintain healthy bacteria and reduce infection risk
Below are the most common products recommended in this area. Please note that guidance with a Provider is recommended to ensure proper use and duration of these supplements
Cystistatin
Cystistatin is a unique botanical blend formulated to promote a healthy urinary tract.
One of the key ingredients in Cystistatin is uva ursi extract, which is standardized to contain 20% arbutin. Arbutin, particularly when combined with berberine sulfate, provides a powerful combination to help maintain healthy microbial balance in the urinary tract and bladder.*
Oral Probiotics
Oral probiotics are used to help maintain healthy gut balance and support recovery during and after treatment.
Her resources note that:
Oral Lactobacillus probiotics may be used daily for maintenance. If on an oral antibiotic, separate by two hours.
Saccharomyces boulardii is recommended during antibiotic treatment.
Higher probiotic support may be helpful if digestive symptoms occur while on antibiotics

Lactobacilli 100 B
Ortho Biotic 100 is a high-dose probiotic delivering 100 billion active cultures for cases of gastrointestinal (GI) and immune distress.
Going beyond the threshold of traditional probiotic support, high-dose probiotics influence GI health and immunity in ways lower-dose probiotics cannot.*
Vaginal Health: Acidification
A healthy vagina is naturally acidic (3.8 to 4.2) which helps beneficial bacteria thrive and reduces colonization with unhealthy ones. This pH is maintained by good colonization by lactobacilli specific to the vaginal tract. These are different strains than populate the GI tract.
Restoring acidity may involve options such as lactobacillus recolonization, normalizing pH with V-Fresh suppositories, or apple cider vinegar douching. Once there is sufficient recolonization, normal pH can be maintained without additional support. To continue using these products can result in an overgrowth of healthy bacteria and also create symptoms due to a pH that becomes too low.
Below are the most common products recommended in this area. Please note that guidance with a Provider is recommended to ensure proper use and duration of these supplements
Vaginal pH Support
This unique new suppository supports a healthy vaginal pH, naturally resolving undesired vaginal odor.*
V-Fresh has been reformulated! The ascorbic acid (pH 2.6) has been replaced with the less irritating lactic acid (pH 4.0). This is more physiologic since healthy lactobacilli produce lactic acid. This is agreat product to help acidify the vaginal tract which supports healthy lactobacilli and discourages pathogens that flourish at a higher pH.
Vaginal pH Test Strips | For Feminine Care | pH 3.0 to 6.5
Vaginal pH Test Strips for Feminine Health by Med Lab Diagnostics are a perfect way to track your vaginal health. If you have recently been experiencing symptoms such as vaginal itching, pain, or unusual discharge, these may be symptoms of certain conditions such as bacterial vaginosis(BV), trichomonas, yeast infection or other vaginal infections.*
Vaginal Health: Recolonization
Recolonization focuses on restoring healthy protective vaginal bacteria, especially Lactobacillus crispatus, which helps maintain balance and reduce infection risk.
Vaginal probiotics may be used to help rebuild these beneficial bacteria, and probiotics that are designed for gut health are not a substitute for vaginal-specific strains.
Recolonization helps restore healthy vaginal bacteria so the body can better maintain balance and prevent future infections.
Below are the most common products recommended in this area. Please note that guidance with a Provider is recommended to ensure proper use and duration of these supplements
