LabCorp Testing

Labcorp Test # 505443 no longer available

LabCorp is closing its hematology lab (Esoterix) in Denver as of March 30th. All of the items on the 505443 custom panel will be available except for the one that is positive the majority of the time – PAI-1 4G/5G polymorphism genetic. Until I have exhausted all leads that I am currently pursuing to get this reinstated, please order the items individually through Quest. Since they don’t have a reflex option for PAI-1 Activity, just go straight to the genetic test (insurance used to require the screening test first, but many no longer require that – patients can check using the attached CPT codes).

If you are in contact with your sales reps, please feel free to ask them to pass on your concerns about not being able to properly treat your patients’ chronic infections without this information. I’ve also attached a list of the testing changes.
